Nailsaster #2: Peggy Sage Acrylic Saved the Day

Hi girls!!

A couple weeks ago I made a mess of my thumb nail. I broke it behind the growth line and it scared the scrap out of me! * LOL *

Há algumas semanas atrás aconteceram-me uma série de azares à unha do polegar que ficou num estado miserável ! Assustou-me imenso porque a parti em dois sitios diferentes bem antes da ponta da unha!

So.. I went on a campaign to find a way to save my dear nail!

I came cross acrylic methods because I was looking for Orly Rescue Kit and found out that it was out of stock. In a further search I found this Acrylic Powder + Acrylic Liquid Peggy Sage Kit and, as I love Peggy Sage treatments (at least the ones I have- post about this soon)  I bought it and tested it as soon as I could.

Foi então que embarquei numa campanha para descobrir um método eficaz de resolver isto e salvar a minha rica unha!

Encontrei vários métodos em acrílico enquanto procurava pelo kit da Orly para reparar unhas. Como não o consegui comprar tive de procurar alternativas.

Encontrei então este Kit da Peggy Sage e como adoro toda a linha de tratamento deles ( pelo menos os que tenho, post sobre isto brevemente) resolvi experimentar.

- Peggy Sage Cuticule Oil

- Peggy Sage Acylic Liquid

- Peggy Sage Acrylic Powder

- Acrylic Brush

- Buffer & File

     Remove the nail polish with acetone and after that with a bit of alcohol to dehydrate. 

    File the nail into the desired shape.

    Buff lightly and gently the nail to remove all natural grease.

    Remover todo o verniz com acetona e depois passar um pouco de alcool embebido em algodão para desidratar a unha.

     Limar a unha até ficar com a forma pretendida.

Usar um bloco e limar a superficie da unha com bastante cuidado. 

Basta limar ligeiramente, é só para remover alguns vestígios da gordura natural da unha para que o acrílico adira melhor.

Now you can do it in two ways.

- Acrylic construction 

- Dipping the nail into the acrylic powder

Agora podem proceder de duas maneiras:

- Construção em acrílico

-Mergulhar a unha em pó de acrílico.

#1 Acrylic Construction ( the one I used)

    You dip a very small amount of liquid into a small bowl ( don't put the brush directly into the Acrylic Liquid container/bottle because if it mixes with the power It will ruin the whole liquid).

     Remove the excess liquid and dip the brush in the power a couple of times.

    Start applying the acrylic in the tip and go up. Do not apply acrylic to close or on top of the cuticle zone. Leave with a small space to grow and hydrate the zone. Let it dry for a couple of minutes and buff it until its smooth and leveled with the nail.

     Apply cuticle oil and massage for a while. Its done!

#1 Construção em Acrílico ( a que eu usei )

   Despejar um pouco do líquido do acrílico numa pequena tacinha. Mergulhar o pincel no líquido para acrílico e remover o excesso passando numa toalha limpa ou papel absorvente.

   Atenção, não mergulhem o pincél directamente no frasco grande de líquido pois uma pequeníssima quantidade de pó contamina e estraga todo o líquido.

    Depois de passar o pincél no liquido e remover o excesso mergulhem a ponta do pincél no pó até fazer uma pequena bolinha de acrílico. Comecem a aplicar pela ponta da unha tentando nivelar ao máximo e vão construíndo para cima. Não coloquem nada por cima da cutícula..deixem sempre um pequeno espaço para a unha crescer sem problemas e para que possam hidratar a zona.

   Deixem secar uns 2-3 minutos e limem todo o acrílico gentilmente, só para o nívelar. No fim apliquem óleo de cutículas e massagem bem!

#2 Dipping the nail into the acrylic powder

Well.. basically you brush the nail with the acrylic liquid ( not the cuticule line!) and before the liquid dries out dip the nail into the powder. Remove the excess, buff a bit and repeat the process one or two times until you find the nail strong enough.

#2 Mergulhar a unha em pó de acrílico.

Basicamente o procidimento consiste em passar o pincél com o líquido para acrílico em toda a unha, excepto a zona das cutículas e antes que o líquido seque mergulhar a unha no pó. Remover o excesso de pó, deixar secar e limar suavemente. Repetir o processo 1 o 2 vezes até que a unha esta resistente e a quebra remendada!

O que mais gostei  e o que menos gostei:

O que mais gostei foi o facto de a unha ficar mesmo mesmo super protegida e de o acrílico durar imenso.

O que menos gostei foi o facto de o líquido ter um cheiro mesmo MUITO intenso.

Custou-me 15€ o líquido e o pó.

What I loved and hated:

I loved how the acrylic worked, lasted and protected the nail.

I hated how intense the smell of the liquid was!

It costed me 15€ just the powder and liquid.
