For those who don't know what I am talking about (Follow me through Facebook to know a lot more!) I am making an Indie Guide A-Z!

This will be a huge project and a enormous pleasure to do! So .. what am I going to do? Everyday, I'm going to show you a different brand of Indie Nail Polishes (and some of their major stockists too!! )

Para quem não sabe do que eu estou a falar ( basta seguirem-me também no Facebook para saberem as novidades em primeira mão ) estou a fazer um Guia de Vernizes Indie.
Este é um projecto enorme e muito trabalhoso que tenho imenso prazer de partilhar convosco!
Então, o que é que vou fazer? Todos os dias, vou-vos mostrar uma marca diferente de vernizes indies com entrevistas com as meninas ( e meninos) que os fazem! Além disso, tambem vos vou trazer entrevistas com as maiores lojas onde eles se vendem!

Brand Name: Pirate Polish

Where are you from? Canada

When have you started? I opened my Etsy shop in July of 2012.

Is there about a story behind the name of your brand? I really wanted a name that was catchy and fun! And I had the idea of a really cool looking pirate girl for the label, which a local comic book artist made into reality. Overall, I think the Pirate Polish concept is one that people will remember, and will hopefully stand out in the increasingly vast world of indie polish!

How many polishes/collections have you created? Thus far, I've created two holiday-specific collections (Halloween 2012, and Christmas 2012), but also have many other polishes in my regular collection.

Three Unforgivable Curses: Avada Kedavra, Cruciatus, Imperius.

Is there a special polish/collection? Why? While I'm partial to all of my lacquers, I think the Christmas 2012 collection is a stand-out for me... I think it has to do with all the powerful memories I associate with holidays. For example, "Sugar Cookies" is a polish that embodies my all-time favorite Christmas treat: my grandmother's sugar cookies. I designed the base of Sugar Cookies to be a very warm golden white; very creamy, and not stark at all. Just like sugar cookies fresh out of the oven!

Where you a polish addicted before starting making polishes? Definitely! For several years I have been obsessed with nail lacquer. It really hit me in a big way when I started grad school; there was something stress-relieving about taking the time to sit down and do my nails when I was struggling to manage a busy schedule.

Did you have a blog before making polishes or have you started one after? I started my blog before I began the polish-making enterprise; I've been blogging for almost a year now!

What’s your favorite thing about making polishes? My favorite thing about making polish is being able to customize and creatively explore one of my favorite hobbies- nail lacquer! Before I started making polish, I would always think "Oh, if only someone could make the polish I'm dreaming of!"... now I can!

Is there anything you'd Like to share: I would like to mention that Pirate Polish does ship internationally- I know a lot of nail polish enthusiasts live outside of North America, and sometimes it's frustrating to not be able to order something internationally. I'm very sympathetic to that problem, and offer shipping options worldwide!
